Why We Give

At Crosspoint City Church, generosity is not just something we do—it’s a reflection of who we are in Christ.

We believe that our God is a generous God. He is a giver, not a taker, and the ultimate proof of this is found in Jesus (2 Corinthians 8:9). Since we are called to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1), we must be givers, not takers so that His generous nature is seen in us. Therefore, we will be a people of sacrifice and generosity, believing that as we give, lives will be changed—both our lives as givers and the lives of those who receive. Our mission is to relentlessly pursue those far from God to help them know and follow Jesus, and generosity is a key part of making that mission a reality.

Our philosophy of Generosity

Biblical Stewardship
and Generosity

Scripture teaches that all we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1) and that we are stewards, not owners, of His resources. Jesus calls us to live open-handedly, using what He has entrusted to us to bless others, support the work of the church, and make an eternal impact (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). Generosity is not about obligation—it is about gratitude and trust. We give joyfully,
sacrificially, and expectantly, knowing that God is our provider. As a church, we believe that when we live generously, we participate in God’s redemptive work and see lives transformed

The Role of Healthy Debt in

Kingdom Advancement

While Scripture cautions against reckless debt that leads to financial bondage (Proverbs 22:7),
we believe that debt, when used wisely, can be a powerful tool for advancing the kingdom. We do not believe in leveraging debt for unnecessary luxuries or in ways that would compromise the church’s ability to fulfill its calling. Instead, we see healthy debt as a means to steward opportunities well—allowing us to move forward when God opens doors to expand His work.

At Crosspoint City Church, healthy debt is defined as:

1. Mission-Driven

Debt is only used to accelerate our ability to reach those far from God and help them know and follow Jesus. If it does not align with our mission, we do not take it on.

2. Sustainable and Responsible

We take on debt only when we have a clear, strategic plan for repayment that does not compromise financial integrity or hinder ongoing ministry.

3. Investment-Oriented

Debt is not used for short-term wants but for long-term kingdom impact, such as acquiring space for ministry, expanding our reach, or enhancing resources that will lead to more people knowing and following Jesus.

4. Prayerfully and Wisely Considered

Every financial decision, including the use of debt, is approached with prayer, wise counsel, and
accountability to ensure it honors God and serves His purpose.

Financial Transparency

As a church, we are committed to financial integrity, transparency, and wise stewardship. Every financial decision, including the use of debt, is made with prayer, accountability, and wise counsel to ensure that we are honoring God in all we do. All debt is reviewed and approved by our elders. We are intentional about operating with wisdom and living within our means so that we remain faithful to the mission God has given us.

Crosspoint City Church is accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). The ECFA enhances trust in Christ-centered churches and ministries by establishing and applying the Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship™ to accredited organizations. These standards require high levels of biblical accountability, board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fundraising, and proper use of charitable resources. This accreditation reflects our unwavering commitment to financial integrity and faithful stewardship.

Likewise, we encourage individuals and families to practice biblical financial stewardship—living generously, avoiding unwise debt, and managing their resources in a way that honors God and blesses others.

Our invitation to live generously

Generosity is a response to the goodness of God. We invite our church family to embrace a lifestyle of generosity, trusting that as we give, God provides. Whether through giving our first and best, or strategic kingdom investments, every act of generosity is an investment in eternity. Together, we will relentlessly pursue those far from God to help them know and follow Jesus, trusting that God will multiply our generosity for His glory and the
transformation of lives.
