What is Baptism?

Baptism is a step of obedience that someone takes after they have trusted in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Baptism is a symbol that someone has a restored relationship with God through their faith in Christ.

Baptism is symbolic of the following things:

  1. Christ’s death and resurrection
  2. The Christian’s union with Christ
  3. The new life that a Christian now walks in
  4. The Christian is now cleansed and washed away of sin

At CrossPoint, we practice baptism by immersion and only baptize professing believers in Christ (Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:37-38).

Who Should Be Baptized?

Any person who has made a genuine profession of faith should be baptized. CrossPoint encourages anyone who has made this profession of faith to follow the way of Jesus and be baptized as a step of obedience. There is not a certain amount of time, certain level of spiritual maturity, or any other factor that should delay a Christian from taking this step.

How Do I Take This Step?

CrossPoint hosts baptisms six times each year. Anyone who has not been baptized as a believer that would like to take this step can register at any point. Listed below are the upcoming baptism dates for 2017 and a link for you to register:

  • Sunday, December 3
