Great Help from a Great God

Read: Psalm 70

Reflection

Often times, we allow our circumstances to dictate how we love and pursue God. The promise of Psalm 70 is that God hears us and is with us in our darkest hours and when all is well. David allowed his circumstances to drive him to a great dependence on God, even though his prayers were not answered yet. For Christians, suffering is a cause to rejoice. Not because we love suffering in itself, but because suffering drives us to depend on Christ. Today, no matter what you are facing, seek the Lord knowing that you have a great God.

Personal Prayer

Father, help me to seek you diligently no matter what I am facing. I confess that at times I seek you half-heartedly, but I know that your grace is sufficient. Teach me to trust you more, and help me to seek you with my whole heart. You are my helper, whom I can depend on no matter what life brings today. Thank you for being the great God that you are to me. Amen.

Corporate Prayer

Take time to pray for the following needs:

  • 260,000 people in our community who don’t know the Lord
  • That God would make us a people who take the Gospel to others with urgency
